Overview
This article explains how to configure your iphone to work with your email account.
Add and configure the e-mail account
1. From the Home screen, choose Settings
2. From the Settings screen, choose Mail, Contacts, Calendars
3. From the Mail, Contacts, Calendars screen, choose Add Account.
4. Choose your email account type. For setting up email to work with your Mediashaker service choose Other.
5. Select Add Mail Account under the Mail section
6. Enter account information.
7. Fill in your name and email address. Then click Save.
8. On the next screen enter your email account details, including the following:
- Incoming mail server: mail.yourdomain.com
- Username: johndoe@yourdomain.com
- Password: email password
- Outgoing Mail server: mail.yourdomain.com
- Username: johndoe@yourdomain.com
- Password email password
Tap Save to save the entered information. Your iPhone will then verify your account information. At this point, you will be presented with an Secure Connection Failed warning.
9. Select the Cancel button. You will be returned to the account details screen.
10. Select the Save button. Ignore the warning that You may not be able to send email.
11. Open the settings for your new mail account and select the Outgoing mail server SMTP button. Use the sliders to disable SSL for mail receiving/sending. Be sure to check set the Server Port number to 587.
12. You will still need to configure your folders since you are using IMAP. Select your newly created account and enter the Advanced section.
Now you will be able to choose the Drafts, Sent, and Deleted folders on the server. This way your folders will be in sync no matter where or how you access your email. Just choose each Mailbox on the same Advanced screen and select the matching folder on the server.
13. Your iphone should now be setup.
