What is a registrant account for .ca domains?

Registrant accounts contain the contact's registration information, which is listed and updated at the Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA). Registrant accounts may have multiple .ca domains attached to them, and the .ca domain belongs to the registrant account. Any changes registrants make to their registrant accounts impacts the .ca domains that belong to that account. For example, if a registrant has eight domains and updates their registrant account with new contact information, the contact information for the eight domains is also updated.

When customers initiate .ca domain registrations for the first time, a new registrant account is created for them. Customers must confirm their registrant account before they can complete the .ca domain registration.
